Yes, I understand space is limited when you travel full-time in your RV. But there is just something about a few books you can make notes in, carry with you, stick in the door of your truck and grab when you want to. I wanted to share the books we find worth sharing with you. I’m still kind of an old fashion girl and love writing my notes and coordinates and information inside. Sometimes it’s someplace we haven’t gone and I hear someone say something that I definitely want to remember.
50 States, 5000 Ideas
This book is convenient and easy to read. Sectioned out very easy. Includes national parks, beaches, hotels, Civil War battlefields, dude ranches, out-of-the-way museums, and more.
The Open Road – 50 Best Road Trips in the USA
One of our favorites!! Updated for 2020! Strategic lists and road trip options: Choose from lists of the best coastal drives, cross-country journeys, trips for kids, awe-inspiring views, and more. Click Here to look at pages in the book!
1000 Places to See Before You Die
This book is great but it does have “outside the US” travel included. But still a wealth of information. I also like the USA and Canada version below. Includes places to stay, restaurants to visit, festivals to check out. The book is more budget-conscious, starred restaurants and historic hotels such as the Ritz, but also moderately priced gems that don’t compromise on atmosphere or charm.
1000 Places To See Before You Die (USA/Canada Version)
If you are only going to buy one book, this is the one! We got this book in 2018 and have used it more than any other book! This book is just full of great information. Resorts, vineyards, hot springs, classic ballparks, the Talladega Speedway, and more. Includes new attractions, like Miami’s Pérez Art Museum and Manhattan’s High Line, plus more than 150 places of special interest to families.
Off The Beaten Path
Another favorite, and where we got so many of our amazing tips and ideas of places to see by taking the roads less traveled. Highlights over 1,000 of the United States’ most overlooked must-see destinations. In a state-by-state A-to-Z format, this budget-friendly vacation planner reveals the best-kept secret spots. Click here to take a look.
Complete National Parks
We really love how this book is laid out! This is a 544-page book! It is also a hardcover. National Geographic’s comprehensive travel guide to recreation areas, trails, historic sites, nature hikes, seashores, camping, and campgrounds is for everyone who loves outdoor recreation.
Guides to State Parks of the United States
This newest addition is amazing. There are so many State Parks that blow us away in their beauty and they are often overlooked! Carry this book in your car or truck with you. It’s a great source of information! Evan has contact information if you might need it. Awesome resource!
